Pre-Curingis the active process of monitoring the Moisture and Humidity that is already present inside the buds after harvest and "hang-drying"; and cutting your buds loose from the stem. This process should allow for an air-exchange, moving the buds around, and monitoring the Humidity several times a day for the first week of Pre-Cure. Here's some of the items we'll be using:

5gal container

Boveda 58% Humidity Control Packs

Digital Temp/Humidity Monitor
58% Humidity is ideal for drying & curing your buds, but it's not always achievable during drying, but required during curing in the container which is much easier to maintain the proper humidity level. IF you don't dry and cure your product properly - Mold and Mildew can form in and outside of your buds which will destroy your hard work and will damage your lungs if you attempt to smoke that product.
When you clip your buds from hanging-to-dry, then into the container from the stem, all the plant material combined will raise your humidity inside the container above 58%, which is normal. Then you use the lid of your container to fan fresh air into it, while using your hand to move the buds around to make sure fresh air is circulated throughout - then place the Humidity Gauge & Boveda pack back into your container, on top of your product, and close the lid; then check it again in 1 hour to see how much and how fast the humidity is rising. Rinse & Repeat this process for 1 week. Gradually you will notice that your humidity is no longer rising as fast and you don't have to check on it too often, and the amount of times needed to open the container to fan fresh air in, and move the buds around is less often.
Once your buds are stabilizing around 58%, you can remove the boveda pack back into it's storage package and still continue to monitor the humidity to ensure your product is finished to your liking.
If you wish to have a higher % of humidity, such as 62% in your buds; follow the same pre-curing process above; but instead use your own preferred humidity level of Boveda.
